Riding High
The rider in this painting is actually one of my wife’s relatives. I was able to work from photographs of him competing in rodeo. I really enjoy painting saddle bronc riders because I get both the human figure and the horse in the same painting. The real challenge is taking a sport with that much speed, force, and movement and making it live in a still image.
