Mr. Brown

Brown pelicans are fascinating to watch. They have so much personality, and the more time you spend around them, the more there is to notice. They can look a little awkward one moment and incredibly graceful the next, and that’s part of what drew me to paint one.

I emphasized his expression, long bill, and the beautiful color in his head and neck. The softer background allows those details to stand out.
